This hotel was booked by the company my husband was contracting to. I accompanied him thinking I could do my own work at the hotel. The property was chosen for its proximity to my husband's client's office, but that's all it had going for it. Other reviews raved about the rooms, but I think we were assigned one of the closets. The room (11) was clearly designed to be a second bedroom to a suite, and I'm amazed they sold it as a stand-alone room. It was a shoebox with a bathroom that had no tub. Had the hotel been full I might have understood being placed there, but there was virtually no one else at the property so they could easily have upgraded us to a larger room as a courtesy.

The "business centre" (or "library" was it was sometimes called) was only intermittently staffed and had no proper office chairs or work tables. Our room had only a tiny workspace and a dining room chair. The TV operation was bizarre. Exiting the default the in-house promo screen was complicated and getting sound was an exercise in trial and error. The two hotel restaurants were mostly deserted and offered only "fine dining". The food was okay, but totally overdone. If you just wanted a sandwich for lunch, you're out of luck.

There was one notable highlight: the bed was exceptionally comfortable, although I could see that the mattress cover under the sheets had not been changed between guests (don't ask). The air conditioning was erratic. You have to choose between being too hot, or having an arctic wind blow down on your head. When trying to work in the room, I wore a polar fleece jacket and a scarf that I carry for drafty planes.

The neighbourhood is clearly built for expats. It's freakishly clean, safe, and expensive. This is great is you're not interested in experiencing any local colour, but otherwise too antiseptic to be interesting. It's a 20 to 30-minute cab ride to anything of interest.

At the end of the work week we moved downtown to the Nikko and in the future will pay cab fare if necessary to avoid a return to the Tajmasego.

“Everything was perfect”

This hotel is spectacularly decorated and there is no expense spared on the attention to detail in this department. The exquisite decor, classical music and Versace Home china wear all set the stage for a magical stay...and the bed sheets were the most comfortable I've ever slept in (some kind of cotton-silk mix) and I have stay in a lot of luxury hotels so that is a big compliment.
However, the aesthetics of the place are where the fun stops.

Before even arriving, we couldn't understand why the front desk would not allow the airport pick-up service to collect us from the bus station instead of the airport - especially when it was less than half the distance! Due to the new year holiday, we were unable to take a flight direct to Saigon and instead had to flight to Can Tho and take a 7 hour bus journey. The hotel were well aware of this fact and yet could not bend the rules slightly to accommodate two extremely tired, paying customers - probably for fear of losing their jobs!

From here I will just list the problems in an objective way so as to save time. I really hope the hotel management read them and take action. I must stress that I believe the shortcomings are due to a lack of management and training and not down poor effort from the staff, who all seemed to be trying their best but seemed restricted by management inflexibility:

-We wanted to use the sauna and received a call in our room to tell us that the sauna was on and ready to use. We went to the sauna and found it had only just been switched on and was still cold. By the time it was hot the spa area was closing so we couldn't use it and therefore we stressed the fact that we wanted to use the sauna the following morning. The following morning the sauna was off. I turned it on and told the spa staff to leave it as I was going to use the pool while it was heating. When I returned, someone had turned off the sauna. It must have been the staff as there were no other guests. They told me that the sauna was set to switch off automatically after 30 mins but this was just not true - I have the same sauna control at home and it was clearly set to switch off after 2 hours! After discussing this with them it was very obvious that they had no idea how to work the sauna. Or that the optimal temperature for the sauna should be 80-90, not 40. They were obviously confusing it with the steam room and were likely under instruction from the management to ensure the sauna was switched of if nobody was using it.

-There is no way to get from the spa to the pool, except through the dining room - even though the the back of the spa backs onto the pool area. This is absurd in my mind.

-The shower in our room runs hot and cold intermittently.

-We wanted to dine at 9.30 and take the set menu at the restaurant ($100 per head). Because of the late time I called in advance to confirm this was okay and was told by the from desk that it was. On arriving at the restaurant, we were presented with a different set menu card to the one we thought we had booked. We explained this to the waiter and were then presented with another different set menu card. After further investigation, we discovered that there were 4 different set menu cards, each with a number of different set menus! Can you imagine the confusion. We decided on our choice and ordered.

-The red wine was served cold (refrigerated), in a white wine glass.

-The white wine was served in a red wine glass.

-We were served still water when we had ordered sparkling.

-Our glasses were not topped up or our table attended apart from to serve courses to even though we were the only diners at the restaurant. We suspected our waiters had other duties to attend to.

-The waiting staff were nowhere to be seen!

-The first 3 courses of food were of a reasonable standard. Not particularly great for the money though.

-Our cutlery was not replaced between courses.

-At the fourth course the waiter served my wife with the wrong dish. We alerted him to this fact and he said he would change it. We were dubious of his suggestion preferring to keep the wrong dish rather than waiting a long time for a replacement. He said confidently that the correct dish would be served in 3 minutes. After 40 minutes it was 11pm we had gotten sick of waiting and decided to leave the restaurant and complain at the front desk. We were extremely disappointed. We were told that the reason for the problem was that we chose a set menu very late in the evening and the chefs were not easily able to arrange this. I pointed out that I had called earlier in the evening and placed the booking and choice of menu at 8.30pm, an hour before we arrived. We were told that we would not be charged for the meal but I was very worried that the bill would fall on the staff as they looked incredibly worried about the possible repercussions.

-At the pool the attendant provided me with a towel and not my wife, even though my wife was sat next to me???!

-Nobody offered us water at the pool, or provided us with a menu even though we were in easy sight of the bar staff and there were no other people at the pool or the bar. I assume that the bar staff were under orders not to leave the bar.

This hotel would have the potential to be the best in the city by far, if only it was managed it properly. The trouble is that the management seem to have no clue about running a 5 star hotel and I think that the staff are prohibited from serving guests effectively by inflexible management practices and processes that are preventing them from being empowered to do their jobs properly. It's such a waste of an amazing property!

“Worldclass potential - shame about the service”

1.Absolutely fantastic - beautiful quiet luxury hotel. 2.Checking in and out was immediate. All the staff were very attentive. 3.Very nice breakfast hall. Good list of food - not too overwhelming. Told the staff my son cannot have eggs and she checked and made sure of that. 4.Large cozy rooms (family suite) with luxury bathrooms. 5. Very convenient - near the hotel plenty of restaurant and a shopping mall with a big supermarket. End Dec 2013 I was there on business and brought my family along. Will be going back again in Mid January 2014 and this time purely leisure. Highly recommend this hotel.

Absolutely fantastic, relaxing/quiet and luxurious

Khách sạn có nội thất đẹp nhất Việt Nam

Trang trí tuyệt vời, ấn tượng, nhân viên phục vụ chuyên nghiệp. Thực sự ấn tượng với nội thất bên trong khách sạn. Từng góc trang trí trong phòng, sảnh khách sạn thể hiện gu thẩm mỹ tuyệt vời của Khai. Buổi tối có thể ăn ở Cham Charm, cũng là 1 nhà hàng khác của Khai ở ngay bên cạnh Tajmasago.

Resort này bên ngoài đẹp hơn bên trong. Thiết kế được chứ cũng không đẹp. Ăn sáng ngon. Xung quanh cũng nhiều nhà hàng nên không muốn ăn trong resort thì có nhiều lựa chọn bên ngoài. Gọi taxi thì phải chờ hơi lâu, nên nếu cần taxi thì nên liên hệ lễ tân trước khoảng 10 phút. Trong phòng tôi có tivi 3d và ipad, nhưng ipad thì ko có đồ sạc lúc check in thì đã gần hết pin rồi. Còn lại mọi thứ khác đều khá tốt.

Resort này bên ngoài đẹp hơn bên trong. Thiết kế được chứ cũng không đẹp. Ăn sáng ngon. Xung quanh cũng nhiều nhà hàng nên không muốn ăn trong resort thì có nhiều lựa chọn bên ngoài. Gọi taxi thì phải chờ hơi lâu, nên nếu cần taxi thì nên liên hệ lễ tân trước khoảng 10 phút. Trong phòng tôi có tivi 3d và ipad, nhưng ipad thì ko có đồ sạc lúc check in thì đã gần hết pin rồi. Còn lại mọi thứ khác đều khá tốt.

Khách sạn tuyệt đẹp

Kiến trúc đẹp.
Thức ăn sáng ngon, đủ chất.
Nhân viên nhiệt tình, thân thiện.

Tuy nhiên 2h mình tới check in thì phải đợi tới 4h mới nhận được phòng mặc dù mình có confirm trước. Khách sạn nên dọn phòng sớm để khách có thể nhận phòng đúng giờ.

- Tôi đã đến resort vào ngày lễ nên khách phòng và khách uống cafe rất đông nên nhân viên phục vụ không tốt, không phân biệt được khách phòng và khách uống cafe mặc dù resort khá nhỏ, chỉ 19 phòng, chúng tôi bị nhắc nhở không được vào khu khách phòng, không được chụp hình rất nhiều lần.
- Nhân viên không thân thiện, xử lí tình huống không linh động, chúng tôi phải chờ rất lâu mới nhận được phòng dù trước đó có nói với nhân viên khi nào có phòng thì báo với chúng tôi nhưng nhân viên vẫn xếp khách sau vào trước, và resort có phòng chiếu film, với KM massage miễn phí nhưng nhân viên không tư vấn cho chúng tôi trong lúc thời gian chờ đợi??? Lúc ngồi chờ cũng không thấy nước uống, đến hôm sau chúng tôi đặt massage thì nhân viên báo 11am spa mới mở cửa,và đến 1pm mới suất trống và chúng tôi trả phòng luôn.
- Đồ ăn sáng cực tệ, trứng chiên, luộc, mì gói HQ...tôi chưa thấy resort nào thức ăn tệ đến thế, tôi gọi phần trứng chiên mà ăn xong vẫn chưa thấy bánh mì đâu, sáng 7am tôi đến chỗ ăn sáng thấy có nhiều ng chờ nhưng không thấy nhân viên đâu vì ăn ở tầng 2 mà nhà bếp thì nơi khác.
-Khuôn viên quá nhỏ cho 1 resort (có lẽ do ở khu vực PMH) , buổi chiều tối khách cafe rất đông tấp nập, chen chúc chụp hình, với hồ bơi ngay chỗ khách ngoài uống cafe nên tôi thấy k tiện cho khách phòng có thể bơi.
-Ưu điểm: phòng thiết kế đẹp, vị trí tốt nên gần đó có thể ăn ở ngoài với giá hợp lí. Còn những khuyết điểm trên resort có thể dễ dàng khắc phục để ngày 1 tốt hơn.

Cần khắc phục về dịch vụ

- Tôi đã đến resort vào ngày lễ nên khách phòng và khách uống cafe rất đông nên nhân viên phục vụ không tốt, không phân biệt được khách phòng và khách uống cafe mặc dù resort khá nhỏ, chỉ 19 phòng, chúng tôi bị nhắc nhở không được vào khu khách phòng, không được chụp hình rất nhiều lần.
